Private label placement checklist for a custom headwear program for wholesale assortment buyers: the buyer decision
Private label placement affects wearer comfort, brand presentation and identification. Define where each label belongs and how it is attached before reviewing only its artwork.
Locate every label on the finished construction
Distinguish brand, size, care and identification labels where requested. Mark the seam or edge used as the placement reference and describe the attachment method for review. Check the label on an assembled sample so visibility and contact with the wearer can be assessed.
Apply the review to your buying program
Wholesalers should identify which assortment lines share the component under review and which use another option. A substitution for one SKU needs its own scope. Notify the account owner of affected descriptions before pooling variants that only appear equivalent in a catalogue.
Approve placement separately from label wording
Confirm which face is visible and whether the label interferes with the closure or sweatband. Refer destination-specific wording to the responsible buyer contact. A correctly positioned label does not establish that its composition or origin statements have been verified.
Keep the decision evidence
Keep a label placement map with reference photographs, attachment notes and artwork revision. Track wording questions separately from the physical placement disposition.
